Live event photography coverage of Sebastian Bach at PARX Xcite Center in May 2024 by DKG Photography LLC in Levittown, PA.

There are moments in life that feel like everything has come full circle—and this was one of them.

As a teenager in the late ’80s, I was completely hooked on the hair band era. Every day after school, I’d rush home, flip on MTV, and lose myself in Hard 30 the daily taste of Headbangers Ball.

Back then, I dreamed of being on tour with artists like Skid Row—telling their stories from the inside.

Life had other plans.

Fast forward a few decades, and I found my place behind the camera instead. Photography became my way of telling stories—capturing energy, emotion, and moments that can’t be repeated.

And somehow, I found myself standing in the pit at the Xcite Center at Parx Casino—camera in hand—photographing it all in real time.

Even though time has passed—for all of us—some things haven’t changed.

The energy.
The presence.
The unmistakable voice.

There’s something powerful about being just a few feet away, watching an artist command the stage with the same intensity that defined an entire era.

And then there’s the crowd.

Hands in the air.
Voices shouting every word.
That shared connection between artist and audience.

It’s not just a performance—it’s an experience.

If you’ve ever photographed live music, you know the rule: first three songs, no flash.

It’s a short window—but it’s where the magic lives.

Those first three songs are pure adrenaline. The lights are changing, the energy is at its peak, and every second counts. You’re reacting, adjusting, anticipating—trying to capture something unforgettable in just a few minutes.

And honestly… it’s one of my favorite places to be.

Behind every great frontman is an incredible band.

This show had an added layer—family.

With Sebastian’s son, Paris, on drums, there was something deeper happening on stage. A connection that went beyond the music. A legacy continuing in real time.

Standing there, camera in hand, I couldn’t help but think back to that teenage version of myself.

The one with big dreams, glued to MTV, imagining what it would be like to be part of this world.

I didn’t take the path I expected—but somehow, I still ended up here.

And maybe that’s the best part of all.

Life doesn’t always take you where you planned to go—but sometimes, it brings you exactly where you’re meant to be.

Thirty-five years later, I’m still chasing that same feeling—just from behind the lens instead of in front of a TV screen.

And for that… I’m beyond grateful.
